Perched on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range, Gudauri shines as Georgia's premier ski destination. The resort, with its expansive terrains, offers a unique blend of pristine powder slopes and off-piste challenges. Enveloped in the raw beauty of the Caucasus and enriched by Georgian hospitality, Gudauri presents an exotic skiing journey unlike any other.
Beginners: New Gudauri has a bunny hill at the base of the gondola, and there's another at the top of the Gudaura gondola/Shino lift. Beginners have access to slopes via the Snow Park and Pirveli chair lifts, both of which lead exclusively to green runs. The Snow Park is particularly recommended for those who are just transitioning from the bunny hill since Pirveli tends to be busier.
Intermediates: The Gudaura gondola, Shino, and Soliko provide access to blue runs that are well-suited for those at this skill level. The ungroomed sections between the groomed pistes offer a delightful challenge for those interested in trying out freeriding. There are numerous combinations of intermediate slopes at the mid-mountain level, with additional ones nestled among the advanced terrains higher up.
Advanced: The Kudebi, Sadzele, and the lifts in the Kobi Canyon grant access to the resort's highest elevations and most challenging slopes. From rocky chutes and drops to steep powder-filled terrains, advanced riders have a plethora of options to test their skills.
Snowboarding: The treeless downhill runs in the resort provide optimal conditions, and snowboard enthusiasts can easily access the slopes via chairlifts and gondolas.
Off-piste: Freeriding is a popular activity in Gudauri. Those who venture into off-piste terrains may utilize snowshoes for climbing or opt for touring skis for a more seamless experience. It's important to note, however, that certain areas like Kudebi, Sadzeli, and Kobi have witnessed in-bounds avalanches.
Heli-skiing For those seeking an unparalleled skiing adventure, Gudauri offers world-renowned heli-skiing experiences at affordable rates. This thrilling activity involves flying skiers or snowboarders to untouched slopes via a helicopter, allowing them to ski down pristine powder snow terrains.

Though the après ski concept is nascent in Gudauri, there are already standout places making a mark. Nomad bar, situated at the base of Pirveli lift, exudes energy from afternoon to night, becoming a go-to for dance enthusiasts in ski boots and lovers of chacha poured from jerrycans. Time Out, atop the Pirveli lift, caters to a mature crowd while Drunk Cherry is a hub for local ski instructors and young adventurers. For night owls, Voodoo Bar in New Gudauri is the spot, coming alive post-midnight and ensuring a lively scene into the wee hours.
The gastronomic journey in Gudauri is both flavorful and intriguing. English might not always be the language of choice, and the serving pace can be leisurely, yet it lends an authentic touch to the experience. As for recommendations: Sadzele, Truso, Time Out, Drunk Cherry or Soncho Hotel’s restaurant that presents a diverse Georgian menu with unique offerings.
I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
