Borovets is one of the largest ski resorts in Bulgaria, providing a great ski experience for a bargain price. It consists of 58 km of runs, with slopes suited to all ski abilities between three ski areas, Sitnyakovo, Yastrebets and Markudjik, all conveniently linked by ski lifts. The majority of the terrain is well suited to beginners and intermediates however, you'll find a small selection of black runs for the experts too. Many slopes are set among stunning alpine forests with lots of fun tree-lined routes to perfect your carving. Accommodation and lift tickets are cheaper than other European ski destinations so it's a great choice for skiers on a budget. The village has a lively atmosphere with a choice of traditional Balkan pubs, many apres-ski spots and great food options. On your rest day, you can enjoy non-ski activities such as spa days, hot springs, bowling, horse riding and more.

For those seeking a bit more excitement, the short blue runs like Sitnyakovo 1 or Markudjik 1 offer the perfect challenge.

Intermediates: While Borovets may have a modest ski area, it packs a punch for intermediate skiers. The Yastrebets sector offers captivating long red runs. A must-try is the Musala Pathway blue run, the resort's longest at 12km, which offers a picturesque journey through the forest, stretching from the Markudjok sector at the peak down to the village. Other areas, like the Sitnyakovo centre, present shorter red runs and easy routes back to the village, ensuring a mix of adventure and relaxation.

Advanced: Advanced skiers have the thrilling World Cup run in the Yastrebets area to test their skills. Besides, Borovets is known for its off-piste skiing amidst the trees. While the resort might not overwhelm experts with its challenges, the fresh powder on runs like the Markoudjik 2A or the steep Fonfon slope beneath the Yastrebetz lift is sure to be a treat.

Snowboarding: Snowboarders can soak in the breathtaking forest views while conquering every blue and red run. The Fun Park Borovets, adjacent to the Popangelov red run, offers a 250m stretch filled with rails and boxes for those eager to showcase their stunts.
