EXCELLENT (1,932 REVIEWS)

With a mixture of wide-open bowls and tree-lined runs, Ortisei's quiet pistes bring a variety of terrain suitable mostly for beginners and intermediates. In the wider Val Gardena area, there is access to 175km of slopes that are endlessly exciting to explore and experienced skiers often head to Val Gardena to complete the World Cup downhill course. The village itself beams with true, authentic Tyrolean charm, with its old church, bustling streets and plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops to wander around. There are only a few lively bars in the centre of this Italian village, however, you're guaranteed good vibes and even a dancefloor or two! Fancy a day off the slopes? Why not try watching an ice hockey match, heading to the hot springs or even paragliding if you're feeling extra adventurous! These are just a few of the many non-ski activities you can do while here.
