High above the Andalusian plains, Sierra Nevada blends world-class skiing with a unique Mediterranean charm.
Beginners: Borreguiles is the heart of the beginner-friendly terrain, with nursery slopes at 2,700m offering stunning mountain views. Wide, gentle greens are ideal for practising turns, while ski schools and gondola access ensure a smooth start for first-timers. For those progressing quickly, the blue El Río run offers a longer, scenic descent to the village.
Intermediates: Intermediates are spoilt for choice with sweeping blues and thrilling reds. The Veleta chairlift unlocks runs like the long and exhilarating El Águila red, which descends over 6km from Veleta’s summit. The Borreguiles and Loma Dílar areas provide varied terrain to keep intermediates engaged throughout their stay.
Advanced: Experts will find their playground in the Laguna de las Yeguas sector, where steep reds, challenging blacks, and exciting off-piste opportunities await. The Emilio Reyes and Zayas chairlifts provide access to quiet, powder-filled slopes, perfect for honing technique or chasing thrills.
Snowboarding: The Sulayr Superpark in the Loma de Dilar sector is a highlight for snowboarders and freestyle enthusiasts. With its boardercross track, jumps, rails, and halfpipe, it caters to all levels, while wide-open pistes across the resort ensure enjoyable carving for beginners and intermediates alike.
Among the many Spanish ski resorts, Sierra Nevada shines as a family-friendly destination. The Mirlo Blanco activity area offers tubing, tobogganing, and ski bikes for kids and adults alike. Two crèches, including Dreamland at Borreguiles, provide childcare options, while child-friendly restaurants and dedicated ski schools make it an easy choice for families.
Snow activities: tubing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, night skiing
Non-skiing activities: hiking, Spa and wellness, ice skating, day trips to Granada and the Alhambra.
The après-ski scene in Sierra Nevada revolves around Spanish terrace and tapas culture. After a day on the slopes, enjoy drinks and small plates in Pradollano’s bustling plazas. For those seeking nightlife, bars and clubs keep the party going well into the night, offering a mix of relaxed vibes and lively music.
Dining in Sierra Nevada is a treat for the senses, with over 20 restaurants offering a range of options. Tapas bars serve Spanish classics like Iberian ham and bocadillos, while slope-side spots provide hearty fare to refuel. For those craving variety, international favourites like pizza, pasta, and burgers are also widely available.
I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
