With 30 km of marked slopes and access to a range of winter activities, Kranjska Gora caters to all skill levels, offering a relaxed and scenic skiing experience amidst the stunning natural beauty of Slovenia's premier ski destination.
Beginners: Kranjska Gora is an excellent resort for beginners, with wide nursery slopes conveniently located near the village. The gentle gradients and easy blue runs provide the perfect environment to practice the basics.
Intermediates: Intermediate skiers will love the tree-lined red runs on the northeast-facing slopes of Mount Vitranc. Trails like Vitranc 1 and 2 offer stunning views and longer descents, making them ideal for perfecting parallel turns. The resort's compact size ensures easy navigation and plenty of opportunities to explore without feeling overwhelmed.
Advanced: While the resort doesn’t offer a large number of black runs, advanced skiers can challenge themselves on the steep World Cup slalom course. Other black runs on the east side of the ski area provide exciting options for experienced skiers looking to test their skills.
Snowboarding: Kranjska Gora is a popular destination for snowboarders, particularly beginners and intermediate riders. Wide nursery slopes make learning easy, while more experienced boarders can enjoy free-riding through the trees and exploring the snow park, which features jumps and rails for freestyle enthusiasts.
Kranjska Gora is incredibly family-friendly, with excellent facilities for children and a relaxed atmosphere. The Snow Kindergarten provides a fun and safe environment for younger kids, while older children can enjoy ski lessons tailored to their age and skill level. The gentle lower slopes and well-maintained children's areas make it easy for families to ski together, while non-ski activities like sledging and snowshoeing add variety to the experience.
Snow activities: cross-country skiing, night skiing, ski jumping, snow rafting, sledging.
Non-skiing activities: snowshoeing, ice skating, winter hiking, horse-drawn sleigh rides, casino
Kranjska Gora’s après-ski scene leans toward a laid-back vibe, with a handful of cosy bars and pubs perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Highlights include enjoying Slovenia’s unique hot white wine or warming up with a cup of hot chocolate. For those seeking a livelier atmosphere, weekly ski parties add a festive touch, while the local casino offers a chance to try your luck.
With around 20 restaurants in the village, Kranjska Gora offers a culinary experience that blends Alpine traditions with international influences. Local Slovenian dishes, like hearty stews and soups, feature prominently, alongside pizza and pasta inspired by neighbouring Italy. Many establishments are affordable, ensuring visitors can enjoy a memorable meal without breaking the bank.
I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
